The irony of understanding something is that understanding isn't to know more about something but to know more about what you don't know about it. In this way the people who understand something the best just know more about what they don't know about a subject. This is true for search engine optimization and website marketing. A person who claims to know how google works and understand it all perfectly probably has no idea what they are doing. I say this all the time when I meet with people but NO ONE KNOWS HOW GOOGLE WORKS NOT EVEN PEOPLE AT GOOGLE.

I thought this link was worth sharing. Although "The Onion" is intended to be a parody news website there has to be an element of truth for something to be funny. Many businesses have sites that are nothing but shameless self promotion. Although, you may want to make sales and customers off your website the quickest way to prevent this from occurring is to turn your site into something focused around making you money instead of giving the visitor what they are interested in and providing value.

Most of my attention is focused on the launch of a new website in Van Buren called I Love Van Buren. This project is about creating a real economy around a community and connecting businesses in a meaningful way online. I'll share more about this project as it gets closer to launch. The Van Buren community really seems to be willing to work with me to make this happen! I'm very excited.
